Botanical Ephemeral Art · Titirangi, New Zealand
Intricate compositions made from real elements of nature — dried stems, leaves, flowers, seeds, and petals. Each piece a conversation between hand and earth.
The Artist
Yellow Roots is the art practice of Marina Pauliukova — a Lithuanian-born artist now living in Titirangi, New Zealand. She crafts intricate compositions from real elements of nature: dried stems, leaves, flowers, seeds, berries, and petals.
Growing up in Zarasai, Lithuania, among enchanting forests and lakes, Marina developed a deep connection to the natural world. This bond led her to study Environmental Sciences (MSc), driven by a desire to highlight environmental fragility and the need for conservation.
“A stem curved just so. A petal held in place by nothing but intention. This is how we find meaning — in what the eye almost misses.”
Her medium is botanical ephemeral art — a dialogue with nature itself. Through her work, Marina aims to spark a reconnection between humanity and nature, encouraging viewers to pause, observe, and appreciate the macro beauty found in micro details.
